A dummy ticket for Turkey visa files is a flight reservation with a PNR, held in the airline's system without paying the fare. For many applicants it is optional: no official Turkish page we could open, as of September 2026, lists a flight reservation or hotel booking as a required document for either the e-Visa or the sticker visa. Order one only if the checklist you are given asks for a flight itinerary or travel dates.
Which route you use decides the rest. Indians who already hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit can apply online for an e-Visa; everyone else applies for a sticker visa. Which Turkey visa route applies to you: e-Visa or sticker visa
If you hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, you can apply for the e-Visa; otherwise you need the sticker visa. Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Türkiye; only diplomatic passports are exempt, for up to 90 days. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says holders of "a valid Schengen members or USA, UK, Ireland visa or residence permit may get their single entry e-Visas valid for one month via the website www.evisa.gov.tr, provided that they meet certain conditions." Those conditions are shown on the e-Visa site as you apply.
You can use the e-Visa when
- You hold a Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa, used or unused, valid on your entry date
- Or you hold a residence permit from one of those places
- One entry within one month covers your trip
You need the sticker visa when
- You hold none of those visas or permits
- Your qualifying visa expires before you land
- You need several entries, or a trip longer than the e-Visa allows
How Turkey's e-Visa works for Indian applicants
You apply on evisa.gov.tr/en/, pay online and receive the e-Visa there. The Embassy in New Delhi's notice of 1 March 2024 says an eligible applicant can get it "in approximately three minutes", and that it costs "at least 85 USD less than sticker visa". No exact e-Visa amount appears on the official pages we could open.
The same notice sets the rules for the supporting visa or permit. Previously used and unused visas both count, as long as the validity covers your entry date. A visa in an expired passport counts too, if you carry both passports. "E-visas of other countries are not accepted as a supporting document", the original must be with you for Turkish immigration, and airlines check it before you board. On 27 September 2026 the root address www.evisa.gov.tr showed a page for a Turkish company, DTV Danışmanlık Aracılık Organizasyon, which describes itself as a subsidiary of a foundation under Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has no connection to Dummy Tickets Visa, the site you are reading. The e-Visa application itself opened normally at evisa.gov.tr/en/, so type that address in full.
Applying for the sticker visa from India
If you do not qualify for the e-Visa, you start on the Pre-Application System at www.visa.gov.tr and then submit your application in person. The Ministry's general visa information page names that system, and says applicants who turn out to be eligible may be directed to the e-Visa instead.
For submission, the Embassy's fee notice names Gateway as the visa application service provider in India. That notice was last updated on 1 January 2022, so its fees and service charges are probably out of date and we do not print them here. Ask the Embassy or the centre for the current provider, fee and document list before you book an appointment.
Three Ministry rules apply to every applicant. "All applicants are required to have a medical insurance that will be valid during their stay in Türkiye." Your passport must be valid for "at least 60 days beyond the 'duration of stay'" of the visa. And the Ministry recommends applying "at least one month in advance before the planned travel."
The Embassy's sticker visa checklist page could not be opened when this page was checked, so we cannot tell you whether it names a flight reservation or a hotel booking. Read the list you are given by the Embassy or the visa centre before you decide whether to order one.

The e-Visa conditions we could read rest on the visa or permit you already hold, not on your flights. The sticker visa checklist is the one still unconfirmed, so that is where a request for a flight itinerary is most likely to come from.
Do you need a flight ticket or hotel booking for a Turkey visa?
Not as far as the official pages we could open show. Neither the Ministry's pages nor the Embassy's e-Visa notice lists a flight reservation, a return ticket or a hotel booking for Indian applicants, as of September 2026. Two gaps remain: the Ministry's "certain conditions" for the e-Visa appear on evisa.gov.tr during the application, and the sticker visa checklist could not be opened. If either lists a flight or hotel document when you apply, follow its wording.
"Itinerary", "reservation" or "travel dates": a held booking shows these. "Ticket", "confirmed ticket" or a fare receipt: that means a paid ticket, and a reservation does not meet it. For a hotel line, we can add a hotel reservation voucher for your city and dates.

Ordering a dummy ticket for Turkey visa files
Say the visa centre gives you a sticker visa checklist that asks for a flight itinerary. Your appointment is on Monday 12 October, and you plan to fly Delhi to Istanbul on 18 November and back on 27 November. You enter both flights and each name exactly as in the passport on the booking form, and choose 11 October in the "When do you want to receive it?" field. The return trip costs ₹699 per passenger, so two travellers pay ₹1,398.

The PDF itinerary arrives by email or WhatsApp, typically 10 to 20 minutes after payment, or on the date you chose. Before your appointment, check the PNR on the airline's website. Frequently asked questions
Does a used or expired-passport visa count for Turkey's e-Visa?
Yes, if its dates cover your entry. The Embassy in New Delhi says "Previously used or unused visas are accepted as long as their validity date covers your entry date to Turkey." A visa in an expired passport also counts on the same condition; carry both the old and the new passport. Our Turkey e-Visa guide covers more of these edge cases.
Is a UK, US or Schengen e-Visa accepted as the supporting document?
The Embassy's notice says "E-visas of other countries are not accepted as a supporting document." It does not list which digital permissions that covers. If your qualifying visa or permit exists only in electronic form, ask the Embassy before you rely on it, because the airline checks the supporting document before you board.
How much does the Turkey sticker visa cost from India?
We could not confirm a current figure. The only official fee notice we found, from the Embassy in New Delhi, was last updated on 1 January 2022, and its visa and service fees are probably out of date. Ask the Embassy or the visa centre for the current amount before you budget. The e-Visa is described as costing "at least 85 USD less" than the sticker visa.
Do I need travel insurance for a Turkey visa?
Yes. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says "All applicants are required to have a medical insurance that will be valid during their stay in Türkiye." What if my Schengen visa expires before I land in Turkey?
Then it cannot support an e-Visa for that trip. The Embassy says the supporting visa or permit must be valid on your date of entry, and airlines check this before boarding. Either travel while it is still valid or apply for a sticker visa, which the Ministry recommends starting at least one month before travel.
How long can I stay on a Turkish e-Visa?
The Ministry says qualifying passport holders "may get their single entry e-Visas valid for one month". Plan the whole trip inside that month, with your return date before it ends. For a longer trip, or one with several entries, the sticker visa is the route to ask about.
